Researchers need a lot of computing power in order to find a cure for Covid-19. They need a potential supercomputer that could work virtually in order to run different simulations or projections to find the possible cure for the Covid-19. This system is called the distributed computing project, that will be using the power of the computer all around the world. Therefore, when you are not using your computer or sleeping then it could be used to find the cure for Covid-19 and help in the development of a vaccine.
Folding@home is the name of this project, researchers at Stanford University have created this particular project. Therefore, all of the personal computers, laptops, gaming consoles can take part in this particular project in order to develop a high functioning virtual supercomputer.
This project is focused to develop a spike protein, that would be able to latch onto the cell of the human bodies, it will change its shape constantly, in order to understand that how many possible shapes it could change in this given process. The prediction and modelling of a vast number of possible scenarios are needed. Various computers will be working for the same goal and this particular research will be able to help in developing a remedy to the Coronavirus.
