Act 1
The young guy was shaking in fear, his heart beating so loud he could almost hear it. His hands were tied behind his back and a rough cloth was tied tightly around his head, covering his eyes. He could feel the hot sun on his face, but he had no idea where he was or what was happening. All he could hear were the voices of the three men behind him, threatening him, asking him questions.
“Who are you working for?” one of them growled.
The young guy hesitated, unsure of what to do. He didn’t want to betray his boss, but he also didn’t want to die. Finally, he spoke, his voice shaking with fear.
“Saul. I’m working for Saul Goodman,” he said.
The three men burst into laughter, and the young guy felt a wave of relief wash over him. He had told the truth, and it seemed like they were satisfied.
But then one of them spoke again, his voice cold and menacing. “Saul is in jail. How is he running things from there?”
The young guy felt his heart sink. He hadn’t thought about that. He had no idea what Saul was doing in jail, or how he was keeping his business running. But he knew he had to say something.
“You wanted me to tell you the truth, it’s the truth!” he said, his voice now a gargled whisper.
“It better be the truth,” the man said, and the young guy felt rough hands grab him and pull him to his feet. They pushed him into a van and drove away, leaving him to wonder what would happen next.
The next scene was quieter, but no less tense. A man was hunched over a locker, his fingers working nimbly as he tried to pick the lock. After a few moments, he heard a satisfying click and the lock popped open. He reached inside and pulled out a notebook, its pages filled with complex chemical reactions and drawings of strange, unfamiliar compounds.
He replaced the notebook with a counterfeit one and closed the locker. Then he looked up and saw the same young guy from before, the one who had been blindfolded and taken away by the three men.
They exchanged a few tense words, and the man demanded the notebook. The young guy handed it over, and the man opened it up and started flipping through the pages. He felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him as he looked at the intricate diagrams and equations.
“Never underestimate the power of a notebook that was locked away,” he said to himself. “So that no evil eye could prey upon it.”
Then he looked up, his eyes dark and intense. “Walter White, you never touched the tip of the iceberg,” he said. “I will, and in the light of the day. You can use science either to foster life or to remove its existence.”
The young guy watched him go, feeling a sense of unease. He didn’t know what was happening, but he knew it couldn’t be good.
EPISODE – 1
Act 2
The scene shifted back in time to World War II, and the focus was on a German scientist who was working on developing new weapons and substances to help the German army win the war. He was hunched over a notebook, vigorously scribbling equations and notes as he worked.
The scientist was also involved in developing a substance that would help soldiers perform better in combat. The Germans had been experimenting with various drugs and chemicals, trying to find one that would give their soldiers an edge on the battlefield. The scientist was closely involved in these experiments, and he was constantly being informed of the progress being made.
As the scientist worked, he carefully recorded his ideas and findings in his notebook. He would test out new equations and theories, and then transfer the solid ideas onto paper for safekeeping. He was meticulous in his work, and his notebook soon became filled with page after page of complex equations and notes.
Then, one day, he was informed that one of his substances had produced the best results yet. The soldiers who had taken it were reporting heightened senses and improved performance in combat. The scientist circled the equation in his notebook and began working on producing the substance on a larger scale.
The Germans dubbed the substance “Schnuckiputzi” – sweetie pie in English – and began producing it in larger quantities. But little did they know, the same scientist who had developed it was secretly selling his secrets to the Americans.
The notebook, containing all of the scientist’s notes and equations, was kept secret and passed on to American officials. The substance was also tested on American soldiers, but due to its high side effects, the experiments never warranted long-term use.
Eventually, the notebook ended up in the hands of a World War II artifacts collector. He treasured it as a piece of history, a reminder of the war that had shaped the world. But one day, the notebook was stolen from his house and replaced with a counterfeit. The collector never knew that a crime had been committed, and the notebook disappeared into the hands of whoever had stolen it.
And so the story of the notebook, filled with equations and secrets that could have changed the course of history, came to an end. Its fate forever unknown, lost in the pages of time.
Act 3
The young man stood at the entrance of his lab, his eyes scanning over the various pieces of equipment that he had carefully assembled over the years. He had worked tirelessly for large corporations, earning enough money to fund his passion project. Now, he was ready to put his expertise in industrial chemistry to use, with the ultimate goal of legitimizing drugs.
The young man had studied the work of the German scientist, taking thorough notes and analyzing each equation with precision. With the advancements in technology today, he believed that he had the tools to take this idea to the next level. His lab looked like a scene from a futuristic movie, with electronics, mechanical parts, and chemistry equipment all under one roof. The young man had invested everything he had into his lab, and now it was time to make a breakthrough.
He spent countless hours experimenting with the formulas, adjusting the ratios and fine-tuning each step until he finally had a viable product in his hand – a substance that he believed could revolutionize the drug industry. Now, he needed to test it.
The young man knew that he couldn’t distribute the product in the usual way – it was too risky and too illegal. Instead, he turned to the dark web, searching for a group of people who would be willing to test his product. He found a recommendation for a group of individuals who were willing to experiment with new drugs, and he made contact on the dark web.
After careful negotiation, the young man agreed to sell his product at a normal rate to this group of testers. The meeting was setup in the middle of the desert, far away from prying eyes and authorities. He drove out to the given coordinates alone, his heart pounding in his chest as he waited for the testers to arrive.
After what felt like an eternity, he saw a car approaching in the distance. He watched as it got closer, his eyes trained on the two figures that emerged from the vehicle. The two men were skinny and badger, their faces lined with worry and uncertainty. The young man approached them cautiously, his hand outstretched to shake theirs.
“Hi,” he said, trying to sound confident. “I’m the guy with the product.” But he maintained his distance from them and didn’t get any closer to them.
Act 4
The young guy stood there, feeling a sense of relief wash over him as he watched the two men inspect his product. They were not the kind of people he would normally associate with, but he needed to get his product out there and test its effectiveness. He had poured his heart and soul into this project, and it was time to see the results.
Skinny, who was the more vocal of the two, looked up at him with a sneer on his face. “Hey, we are willing to test your product but we are not going to pay you the normal rate,” he said, his voice filled with arrogance.
Badger, on the other hand, just sniffed and nodded his agreement. “Yeah, less than that,” he added, looking at Hermes with a sense of suspicion.
He took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. “It’s for free then!” he said, hoping to diffuse the situation.
“What??” Skinny exclaimed, clearly taken aback by Hermes’ offer.
Badger just shrugged and looked at him with a glint in his eye. “To be honest man, we have not met a guy yet who wants to sell even an ounce of his product for free,” he said, his voice low and menacing.
He could feel his pulse quickening as he stood there, waiting for their response. He knew that the dark web was a dangerous place, and he was taking a huge risk by being here. But he had no choice. He needed to get his product out there, and he needed to do it fast.
“That’s not meth!” he said, trying to reassure them. “It’s something unique. Fyi, it’s German – being tested on Nazi soldiers. Spread the word!” he added, hoping that they would be impressed by the historical significance of his product.
Skinny and Badger looked at each other, exchanging a knowing glance. They had heard all sorts of stories before, but this one seemed a little too far-fetched.
“How do I, hand you over?” He asked, his voice filled with a sense of urgency.
“Just throw it,” Badger said, his voice cold and detached.
He threw the pack towards them, watching as they caught it and inspected its contents. He could hear them muttering to each other, trying to figure out what the substance was.
Then, suddenly, Skinny spoke up. “Shnuck… Shanak… Schnuckiputzi,” he shouted, struggling to pronounce the name. “Hey man, didn’t you have a normal name for this thing?”
Hermes just shrugged, feeling a sense of pride. “Well, it’s German for darling or sweetheart,” he responded, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over him.
“And what do you call yourself?” Skinny asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“The name is Hermes!” he responded, a smirk on his face.
“That Greek god Hermes, yo?” Skinny asked, clearly impressed.
“Damn right!” Hermes said, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over him. He had done it. He had successfully sold his product, and now it was time to wait and see if it worked.
EPISODE 2
ACT 1
FLASH BACK SCENE
The bright, sunny day shone through the window, illuminating the room with its golden rays. The young boy sat on the carpeted floor, his toys scattered around him. He was lost in his world of imagination, his tiny hands moving his toy cars and action figures.
Suddenly, a voice called out from the distance, and the boy looked up. “Hey kiddo, come to the door!” It was his mother’s voice. He scrambled to his feet, his eyes wide with curiosity, and ran to the door.
The door creaked open, and a young woman stood before him. “Hey there, champ,” she said, ruffling his hair. “I’m Jessy, your cousin. Your mom asked me to come over and keep you company for a while.”
Its “Jessy”, she says to Jessy, ‘Jessy you gotta take care of your cousion and no drugs ok!’
YO! I DONT DO DRUGS!
Well, you can lie to your parents but not me. Take care of him, I will be back in no time.
Jessy says hello to his cousion, they went inside, and Jessy looked around the room. He noticed the boy’s comic book collection on a shelf and walked over to take a look. “Yo! Kid, do you also like Superman?” he asked him, his eyes scanning the colorful covers.
The boy’s face lit up with excitement. “Yeah! He’s my favorite superhero!” he said, bouncing up and down.
Jessy grinned. “Hey, do you know about the Greek gods?” she asked him.
The boy shook his head. “No, what’s that?
Jessy’s eyes widened. “They were the real heroes!” he exclaimed. “Super jacked and they were able to control everything, yo! The climate and shit!”
The boy looked at him with wonder. “Really? That’s so cool!” he said.
“Hey, let’s go out and I’ll buy you a comic of my favorite superhero!” Jessy said, grabbing his keys.
The boy hesitated. “But mom told me not to go out with you,” he said, his voice worried.
Jessy sighed. “As you wish, kid. I guess you would never be able to see the best superhero of all time,” he said dramatically.
The boy’s eyes widened. “Okay, okay, I’ll go!” he said, grinning from ear to ear.
“Great!” Jessy said, pointing his finger at his brain. “I’m going to use my superpowers. We’ll come back in no time!”
They went out, and Jessy took him to a comic book store. They browsed through the aisles, and Jessy finally found what he was looking for. “Yo, bitch! Found ’em!” he said triumphantly. “These kids know their shit. There was only one of it left.”
She handed the comic book to the boy. “There you go, kid! That’s peak comics!” she said with a grin.
The boy’s eyes widened as he looked at the cover. “Hermes!” he exclaimed. “He’s the most powerful Greek god there is!”
Jessy laughed. “That’s right! Now you’re talking!” he said, giving him a high five.
The kid seemed excited, they went back to the home. When the mom of the kid comes back, she asked him what did you guys do. Jessy crossed his lips from his index finger and the kid told his mother, Jessy was telling me about the stories of Greek gods. Now, my favorite superhero God is, Hermes!
Jessy and the kid shares a smile with each other and the scene ends.
ACT 2
Skinny and badger are driving their car after their meeting with Hermes. But now, as they drove through the desert, they were scared to their very core. Skinny was driving the car, and Badger was sitting next to him, clutching the seat tightly with both hands.
Badger: Slow down! Yo! Badger pleaded, his voice shaking with fear.
Skinny: Yo! I dont want to get robbed again, we gotta test thing first.
The car is trembling in the desert but skinny keeps driving it fast.
Skinny: Yo! Why dont we try it here!
Badger sighed heavily. “And if someone catches a glimpse, that’s it for us,” he said, his voice low and strained. “I don’t want to be caught by the DEA again, bro. We’ve already been through enough.”
But Skinny was already pulling over to the side of the road, his hands shaking as he reached for the bag with Hermes product.
Badger sighs! You will never learn from your mistakes.
Badger and Skinny took out a small device from their bags and powered it on, their eyes glued to the screen as they eagerly awaited the results. The device was designed to test the purity of a substance, and they had just inserted a sample of the herme’s product they had recently acquired.
But their excitement quickly turned to disappointment as the device showed 0 percent purity. Confused, they looked at each other, wondering why the product wasn’t working.
Badger scratched his head, his mind racing to find a reason. “Maybe it senses danger like I do,” he suggested.
Skinny rolled his eyes, “Yo! You are always scared, man. Let’s try someone else’s product in it, maybe it works better.”
Badger nodded in agreement, and they quickly pulled out another sample from their stash. They inserted it into the device, and their eyes widened as it showed 72 percent purity.
“Yo! It’s working, Badger!” Skinny exclaimed, his excitement palpable.
“I think that’s why we got it for free, it’s not meth,” Badger said with a grin.
“Bro! He said it’s not meth, who knows, it might even be better than meth, and this device of ours is designed to test methonly.” Badger said, His mind already racing with the possibilities of what they could do with their new product.
Skinny: Tries some of hermes product. Sniffs! Shit bro, I am digging it, its refreshing, but suddenly, Skinny’s nose started to bleed, and he passed out. Badger was taken aback by this unexpected turn of events. He quickly sprung into action, picked up Skinny, and placed him behind the front seat of the car.
Badger got behind the wheel and started driving as fast as he could, trying to get Skinny to a hospital. He was losing his mind, his heart pounding with anxiety and fear. As he was driving, he saw a car following him, and his anxiety levels shot up even higher.
He shouts skinny wake up, I know you are’nt dead wake up yo!
“Skinny, wake up, man! I know you aren’t dead. Wake up, yo!” Badger shouted, hoping for some response from his unconscious friend. But Skinny’s body didn’t even move an inch.
As Badger drove, he noticed that the car following him was getting closer and closer. His mind raced with questions but he knew deep down that they are going to loose Hermes product today.
Suddenly, his worst nightmare came true. The same car disappeared from his back but surrounded him from the front, and he was forced to come out of his car. Badger was scared, but he didn’t want to let anything happen to Skinny. He tried to reason with the men, explaining that his friend needed medical attention. But the men were unyielding and seemed determined to harm them.
As Badger was surrounded by the three guys, he was scared shitless. The guys sneered at him, and one of them said, “You see, we don’t even have weapons. We know those are useless for you guys. You are pussies, and we don’t need to waste our bullets to scare pussies like you.”
Badger was trembling with fear. He didn’t know what to do or how to handle the situation. He stammered, “Hey, we have got a new product. Just leave us alone, and we can go our separate ways. We can also take you to the manufacturer.”
One of the guys came close to Badger and punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed. The others laughed, and Badger felt like he was going to pass out. But then, he heard someone coming out of the car, yelling, “YOOOOO!”
Skinny was persistent to find out who had hit his friend, and he shouted, “Who the fuck hit my friend!” The men laughed again, and one of them said, “Have a look at that guy. He is a bag of bones. He wants to know who hit his dear friend.”
Badger tried to diffuse the situation and said, “Hey guys! We can sort this out. We can also offer you unlimited meth. Unlimited. We know a lot of manufacturers.”
But the guys didn’t seem interested in his offer. One of them stepped forward and said, “Hey, our boss is tracking you both. You guys are sneaking into our territories. You guys are fucking it all up!”
All of a sudden, Skinny lunged towards the guy who had hit his friend, looking him straight in the eyes. Without warning, Skinny hit him with one punch, and then kept hitting him mercilessly, his rage fueling each blow.
Badger tried to stop him, yelling, “Hey, Skinny! Stop! Stop, man! What the fuck! What got into you!”
But Skinny was lost in his fury, and he didn’t hear Badger’s pleas. All the guys backing off, watching in horror as Skinny ruthlessly beat one of their strongest men.
Finally, Badger managed to pull Skinny away, and he stumbled back, panting heavily, his adrenaline still pumping. He looked at the guys, his fists clenched, ready to fight again if needed.
The guys didn’t want any more trouble and quickly got into their car, dragging the wounded body of their friend with them. They shouted, “We will be back!”
Yo! Run away you pussies! Skinny spits blood from his mouth. Badger and Skinny watched them drive away, their hearts racing with fear and adrenaline. They knew that they had narrowly escaped a dangerous situation and that they needed to get out of there as soon as possible.
Fuck! Badger is shocked!
“Come on, Badger,” Skinny said, grabbing his friend’s arm. “Let’s get out of here before they come back with more guys.”
I think its the product, hermes was right, its was not just a drug!
We need a quality check yo! Lets get to our tech guy, maybe he can build something for us!
ACT 3
Skinny and Badger drove straight to their tech guy’s lab, hoping he could help them figure out what was wrong with the Hermes product. When they arrived, he greeted them warmly, but quickly noticed the blood on Skinny’s face.
“What happened to you, Skinny? Did someone hurt you?” he asked, concerned.
Badger: Yo! I think its the opposite this time, he hurt someone, not just hurt, i saw him, he looked like a stoned cold killer, like an assassin, if I wouldnt have stopped him, we both would be in jail.
Skinny looked at him, his eyes still burning with anger and adrenaline. “Yeah, some guys tried to mess with us,” he replied tersely. “But that’s not important right now. We need your help.”
With the New testing equipment? The tech guy asked.
Badger: Yes but no!
What do you mean?
“Well, not exactly,” Badger replied. “We already have a testing device, but it’s not designed to test this kind of substance. We were hoping you could modify it or create a new one that would work.”
You guys are right! It says, “Zero” Percent, because its not made to test this thing.
Then how can we check, what it is and how pure is this product?
The tech guy raised an eyebrow. “I see. Well, let me take a look at what you have and see what I can do.” Well, we have to build something new, but at first, I d have to recognise what is it.
So, it can take hours!
If you guys like porn, I have a room full of porn novels, enjoy yourself and I will get back with you!
They took him to their lab where he examined the device they had been using to test the Hermes product. He tinkered with it for a few minutes, running some tests on other substances before trying it on the Hermes product.
Skinny : Yo! I need to jerk off! This thing got my testosterone levels peaked!
Badger: Bro, you gotta take it lightly, you never know what’s in those products.
Skinny’s happily gets into the room and start looking at the graphic novels.
The Time lapse begins!
Badger too looks excited and they both start looking at the novels with their eyes getting bigger and bigger when they switch from one novel to the other. their eyes darting around the rows of novels. They both look excited as they start scanning the titles. The camera zooms in on their faces, and we see their eyes getting bigger and bigger as they switch from one novel to the other. They pick up new porn graphic novels, flip through the pages, and put them back.
Cut to a few minutes later, and Badger and Skinny are still browsing the shelves. They seem to have found their taste and what they like, and they both look eager to stroll around more. The camera pans out to show them standing side by side, with piles of graphic porn in their arms.
Badger and Skinny are both walking towards the washroom. They look relieved to have found a place to relieve themselves. They enter the washroom, and the camera shows the door closing.
But, skinny keeps doing his round of novels and washrooms. Skinny whenever he went to the washroom to jerk of, he shouted in excitement, “ Yo! Big load coming your way”, The camera zooms in on his face, and he is seen as being too excited and eager to relieve himself.
The Time lapse Ends!
Badger got tired by skinny’s fanatics and he was looking at skinny with a weird look, and the next moment their tech guy finally comes to them with a good news.
I hope you guys had enjoyed yourself, Good news and bad news guys!
I finally know what it is but I am not sure. If I am capable enough to construct such a device that could test the purity of this substance. For that, we need some brighter minds and a lot of money!
Brighter mind! Yo! Who is brighter than you! Skinny says!
Well! They guy who created this product is certainly way above my expertise, but since you are not working together, so you need some high calibre chemists who can create a testing machine, and for that you also need to hire an electronics engineer, maybe a computer engineer too.
And if we talk about the money, then maybe 10 grand for the equipment, and for this criminal activity, you gotta pay a shit load of money to those who can work for you with their mouth shut! Otherwise, no one’s willing to risk their lives for it.
So, how much money in total are we talking about?
Maybe around 50 grand! Again, it can take more than that but it depends on how much you can bargain with those guys, who are going to construct this thing.
And in the future, because this product is going to be out there in the market, you can provide this facility to others also, whoever want to test their versions of it. Because, I am seeing the big picture here, I think this is the next biggest thing in the market! And whoever is making it, may revolutionise the drug industry.
Both skinny and badger looks at each other and then ask their tech guy, how?
Because , While looking at its molecular structure, I see that it does have elements of both good and bad!
Like, it can be used to treat others but if you want you can go in either directions, if your manufacturer is an evil guy with evil plans, he can just provide the highest levels of satisfaction to people that even if they know that they are going to die from their first dose of this thing, they are going to want to try this thing to get this everlasting experience. But if he wants, he can do so much good in this world!
One thing is for certain, no ones going to buy meth anymore, after this goes into the market.
Skinny and badger both shares a laughter, Yo, no drug manufacturer is looking to fix anyone. They just want to make money.
Badger: He’s right, because they are all fucked up with their boring lives and this is their way out.
Do you guys wanna do this thing or not?
Their tech guy questioned. FYI! My cut will be 20 percent! If you are good with it, shake on it, otherwise, we will go on our separate ways.
Why not! Skinny and badger shakes his hand. And the scene ends!

The Weight of Midnight

It all began at midnight. You know, that type of night where even the air seems strange, too quiet, too motionless. Like something is observing. The wedding was a week hence. Everybody was fatigued, and everybody was asleep.
Except Hamza.
I heard the steps, quick but quiet. I walked into the hallway and caught him — hoodie up, shoes in his hand, attempting to slip out. Where was he going? It wasn’t solely sus… it was all wrong. Like something was dragging him out.
Then there was her tone — Anaya. Fierce and wild like thunder on a still sky.
“Where do you think you are going?”
Hamza froze. “It’s midnight and you’re going out?!” she yelled.
With absolutely no fear in his voice, Hamza said, “Can’t you just mind your own business?”
It was about to be a full-fledged drama when I intervened.
“Let him go,” I said with a peaceful voice.
Anaya glared at me as if I’d gone mad. “Huzaifa, you’re coddling him!”
“Let him go,” I said once more. “I’ll deal with the wedding arrangements.”
Umaima screamed from her room, “Huzaifa bhai, in case anything goes wrong, we’re coming after you!”
I remained quiet. I merely let Hamza fade into the darkness.
But there was something about that moment… it wasn’t right. It felt like the darkness engulfed him.
The next day was chaos.
Decorators were late. The mehendi artist cancelled. Cousins showed up unannounced. I managed all. Everyone kept yelling “Huzaifa bhai this,” “Huzaifa bhai that.” I just kept fixing everything as I always do.
But something else was annoying me.
Hamza had come back early morning. But he was silent. Eyes red, not because of sleep. Because of fear. That kid, who never remains quiet, was not speaking a word.
He didn’t even quarrel with Anaya.
I sensed something went wrong that night. I could sense it. But I haven’t asked yet.
Two nights later, I saw him sitting in the lounge. Lights off. Just staring at the wall.
“You’re okay?” I asked.
He nodded slowly. “Just thinking.”
“About?”
He hesitated, then shook his head. “Nothing.”
But his voice was not steady.
He seemed like someone who witnessed something he couldn’t describe.
That’s when I knew. It was no ordinary outing.
The evening of the wedding day, I was in my room, running over the list. My phone vibrated. I didn’t know the number.
I picked up.
Static.
Then, a whisper.
“Bhai… something followed me back.”

I was still.
“What?”
The voice returned — Hamza’s voice.
“I shouldn’t have gone there. It wasn’t a normal place.”
Then nothing.
I tried to call back. Nothing.
Cold shivers ran down my spine. I peeked out my window. Just darkness. But for some reason, I didn’t feel like we were alone.
Anaya entered the room.
“You look as if you’ve seen a ghost.”
I said nothing. I couldn’t. My heart pounded.
She sat next to me and took my hand. “No matter what it is, you’ve got this. You always do.”
I nodded, but I didn’t believe her.
I didn’t sleep that night.
And I wasn’t alone.
I could hear Hamza walking up and down the hallway. Stopped right outside my door. Just stood there for about five minutes.
And then I heard him whisper something… but not in his natural voice.
Like someone else was talking through him.
The day of the wedding arrived. Everything seemed perfect on the outside. Guests were laughing, music was playing, and food was being served.
But Hamza remained silent the entire time. Wouldn’t eat. Wouldn’t smile.
Once Anaya departed, I discovered him sitting by himself close to the gate.
“You okay now?”
He finally uttered something.
“There’s something in the house.”
I nervously laughed. “Don’t be funny now, man.”
“I’m not being funny,” he replied.
“I went to the graveyard behind the rail track on the night before. Just to prove a point to my friends.”
“I went there and got something… just a dumb rock. But since then, I hear whispers. And last night… I saw it standing at the foot of my bed.”
I didn’t have a clue what to say. We just sat there in silence. Cold silence.
So yeah, if it wasn’t for wedding drama or if it wasn’t for sibling drama, then this story is about the fact that sometimes, even the people who are closest to you can be hiding something dark. Something they can’t explain.
It’s about how I was trying to hold the house together while something intangible was trying to rip it apart.
And now?
Now I’m just waiting for whatever Hamza brought home… to reappear.
Because deep down, I know —
It never left.

Fiction and Non-Fiction in Contemporary Times

I was invited by Fatima Jinnah University for Women to talk about the topic of fiction and non-fiction in contemporary times at the prestigious occasion of Fatamians Literature Festival 2023. In which I explained my own journey that how an engineer became a writer, i explained about my passion to write fiction and non-fiction, because I had always used parts of non-fiction (reality ) and merged them with fiction to create intriguing stories; an example is my work of “the oblivion of affection” and “the hitlers nephew”, “A slash B normal”.
I also explained that how did i organically started making money just because I loved writing and i wanted to invest my time to write novels. The power of imagination is unreal, I also emphasized on the aspect that we are never going to get a combo of fiction and non-fiction in our mainstream media, so start writing today. If you have some unique stories to tell then just start writing, because 13 years ago when I started writing the hitlers nephew I only had ideas but my writing was not up to the mark, today I revised it because the stories that I had written back then were intriguing. So, now that i have polished my writing skills, I can also revised my old works, my current work triviality is also inspired by final year project of my bachelors degree, ” The Zigbee based synchronised clocks”, and even the idea of that project came about because of a dream that I saw in which I was stranded in a desert. Therefore, even for my readers the message is somewhat similar, start turning your dreams into realities, or as a writer start turning your ideas into physical books.
